Here’s how many suitcases can you check in on different US domestic airlines with their charge. 

Alaska Airlines

Alaska Airlines is one of those airlines that let their passengers take a suitcase and a personal item (it can be a purse or laptop) for free.

For bringing additional luggage, you have to pay $30, $40, and $100 for an extra one suitcase, two suitcases, and three suitcases respectively.

Allegiant Air

You will have to pay from $10 to $75 to take your luggage on Allegiant Air, which depends on the distance you are traveling and when you are adding your luggage to your check-in. 

At the time you book your tickets, you will need to pay around $25 to $35 for checking up to 4 suitcases. But if you wait and check your luggage on the day you depart, then you will need to pay a fixed amount of $45.

American Airlines 

American Airlines allow their passengers to bring one carry-on and a personal item for free. 

If you are taking domestic flights, you can bring up to 10 suitcases with a charge of $30 for the first suitcase, $40 for the second suitcase, and $150 for the third suitcase.

You will have to pay $200 for each additional suitcase after the third suitcase. 

Cape Air

Traveling in Cape Air can be free from luggage charges if you are bringing only one bag or any personal item.

Delta Airlines

There are some exceptions associated with people traveling from Florida and Key West. According to the rule, these people are allowed with only one checked bag. 

Frontier Airlines

When you buy a ticket on Frontier Airlines, you have to pay $30 for one suitcase at the time of booking. For adding one more suitcase, they will charge $45. After the second suitcase, if you add more luggage, then $85 will be charged for each suitcase subsequently. 

The above charges will increase for the luggage if you bring more suitcases to check in after the booking. 

Hawaiian Airlines

In Hawaiian Airlines, passengers can bring one carry-on bag and a personal item, like a laptop, for free. Charges for the checked bags will depend on your flight destination. 

If you are booking tickets to travel within Hawaii, charges will be $25 and $35 to check the first and second suitcases respectively. After that $50 will be charged for each additional bag.

JetBlue Airlines

Another airline that allows the passenger to bring a carry-on and a personal item for free is Jetblue Airlines. Prices for additional luggage depend on the fare option you selected. 

On Jetblue Airlines, you will need to pay $30 for one suitcase, $40 for two bags, and $150 for subsequent suitcases.

Southwest Airlines

Southwest Airlines are rather unique as the first two checked bags fly free. There are weight and size limits of course which are that each checked bag can weigh 50 pounds or less and be 62 inches in size (length + width + height).

Each additional bag and any oversized bag (which weighs more than 50 pounds or is larger than 62 inches) is $75 per item, one-way.

Skis, snowboards and golf bags may also fly free, and all surfboards fly free in Hawaii. 

Spirit Airlines

Charges in Spirit Airlines vary for different destinations. However, it ranges from around $26 to $35 for most domestic flights in the US. You can bring one personal item for free. 

Passengers are allowed to take up to five suitcases. For the first and second suitcases, you will be charged $30 and $40 respectively. For the other three bags, you have to pay $85 for each one. 

United Airlines
